Shooting city skyline with EX1: looks fabulous at daytime, but at night...

I can try to best describe it as being "muddy".

Kinda slightly out of focus, dirty image.

Is there a recommended setting for telephoto night scenes with EX1 that'd make picture look better?

NYC Fireworks at night with EX1. Does this look muddy to you?

Thanks for the sample Craig. However I don't think there's a download link on your Vimeo page. Without it, I can't tell what the original footage looked like vs. what Vimeo compression did.

Maybe it's how EX1 represents shadows, I don't know. Looks greenish in both mine and yours footage. Lights (bridge, building windows) don't seem to be sharp. Kinda blooming.

Then again, I do that on the telephoto end, with wide open aperture...

I'm basically comparing with (35mm originated?) footage that I watch on the commercial Blu-ray movies vs what I get from EX1.

Latest was Ghost Rider - what a great picture quality.

Maybe it's unfair to make such comparison, but then again maybe I just don't know how to get the best out of EX1.

link is the bottom right where all download links are on Vimeo but that too is compressed from 1080p30 to 720p30 before uploading.

Beautiful/amazing footage Craig. We just ordered our EX3 today.....I can't wait. (maybe I'll get it in time to shoot some Christmas lights or something)
