Hi,
New to this game. I'm looking for a lightweight camcorder for doing airborne video from a paramotor. I need to connect a bullet cam for some shots. Are there any AVCHD models with an AV-IN interface ? A LANC input would also be useful, although not as essential as an AV-IN. My unsuccesful research, so far, makes me think I may be asking for too much...

Check Out
Solid State Digital Video Recording Systems and Cameras | ChaseCam (http://www.chasecam.com/)
These systems are not HD but work great we use them weekly on our motorsports television show.
The solid state deck PDR-100 records to CF cards , runs on four internal AA lithium batteries or can power via external battery or hard wired to 12 volt source .
If you can work with standard def then the PDR-100 will serve you well.
I believe everyone will be out of the office this week for a trade show .
If you are unable to get a hold of some one check out Gordon MotorSports on the "Dealer Info " page .
or email me for more info.

This may be the answer for you that I think will be available in February.
Sony : HXR-MC1P (HXRMC1P) : Product Overview : United Kingdom (http://www.sony.co.uk/biz/view/ShowProduct.action?product=HXR-MC1P&site=biz_en_GB&pageType=Overview&imageType=Main&category=MultipurposeCameras)

I was also going to suggest waiting for the new cam from Sony - I presume it will have LANC through the A/V "D" jack, and some early reports on the cam suggest it's ideal for extreme sports and bullet cam type situations. Probably just what the Dr. ordered!

Looks like a repacked HDRTG1. Will definitely be on my list when it comes out as a perfect cam for headcam skiing and sailing. IT does apparently have all the interfaces that the TG1 has from looking at the brochure.

Thanks guys,
That seems exactly what I need. Any idea of what the price tag could be ?

Rumour is 2000-2500 euro, but with the FOREX fluctuations... I'd guess somewhere around the 1K USD price point is where the "market price" ends up.

Ouch... That's a painful rumour. Your "market price" evaluation, on the other hand, translates into 750 euros which is not substantially more than the cost an SD bullet cam and a digital recorder today.
I guess we'll have to wait and see.
Thanks for pointing me towards the new Sony cam, anyway.
Edw.

Well price will be a premium over the HDRTG1 and then a premium for coming from the Broadcast division. I would say at least 30% more than the going rate for a HDRTG1.

For sure it’ll be over a grand, and your estimate doesn’t seem off.
Even SD only models of other manufacturers cost a lot.
This one for example cost $649 at B&H.
