I have a 16x9 .75x wide angle lens on my Z7 and have been pretty happy with it. It does get a little soft on the sides, but I can deal with it. I'm in need of another WA lens for my other Z7 and wanted to know if you guys had any other lenses you preferred.

Thanks!

The best would be the interchangeable one sony makes specifically for the Z7.
I don't know if it's shipping yet.

I'm waiting to see how it looks before I invest in the Z7.
I don't know what's taking them so long...

Can we get you to post the video from those shots?

Do you remember if the edges had barrel distortion? Like this:

Or did it look rectilinear, like this:

It's hard to tell from your grabs.
I would need to see movement to know for sure.

Thanks,

I'm pretty sure it's now available - has anyone actually got one of these lenses?

I just did a search for it and didn't find it. Anybody have any luck tracking this thing down?

Funny.
The camera has been out for over a year.

SONY touts this camera as: "The HVR-Z7U's unique design is the first of its kind; a handheld camera with the interchangeable lens capability".

What good is it if there are no other lenses available!

I'm just not going to spend that kind of money on a lens. I'd much rather buy another 16x9 WA adapter. It adds a little bit of weight to the front of the camera, but other than that, it looks fine. Does anyone know if the E version will work with the US camera?

16X9 has introduced a new line of WA adapters for the EX and Z7s (i.e. the EX line). Does this mean that the older 72mm dia WA adapters are not good enough and will produce vignetting?
Chad, is your 0.75X WA the older version? Does it give you vignettting at the 4 corners?

Anyone has used the old 0.7X WA from 16X9? Does it give vignettting at the 4 corners?

I'm looking into getting a full-zoom-thru WA adapter for my Z7 real soon. Couldn't decide whether to go with 16X9 or century optics. I wouldn't want to get one that will give me vignetting at all.

Sample pics of the Schneider Century Optics attachments for the Z7U:

.75X W/A CONV HD Z7/270 BAY - Schneider Optics (http://www.schneideroptics.com/ecommerce/CatalogItemDetail.aspx?CID=1507&IID=6823)

Click on the 'Sample' tab if it doesn't come up automatically. No vignetting.

I have seen both 16x9 adapters and they both vignetted on my Z7U but maybe thay have somthing new. Don't trust me on that one; have someone else here that doesn't have an interest in you buying a Century tell you their experience. ;)
