Even though I have had success joining clips from 2 cards, I am still iffy on how to join clips properly and I am even more iffy on how to join incomplete clips on my macbook pro when using one card at a time. Sometimes I have duplicate clips on the hard drive after transfer on my Mac Pro (using the camera/usb) and thus waisted time transferring the "incomplete" clip. I have read the user manual with no resolve (no surprise) and I still would like an instructional step by step video or a more extensive "how to" user guide on this subject. Any one have any direction to point me in? ~Thanks.

After playing with the workflow last night the best way to do it seems to be to use the Ex Clip Browser software to copy the card contents onto your harddrive.

From there, add the first card into xdcam transfer.. and then add the second one.. and the clips will join and you can transfer in as one.

However from what you've posted it doesnt sound like your using the Clip browser software to transfer cards. I'd advise you to use it as it gives you a backup of your media if something goes wrong with the Quicktimes.

Thanks Joe for your input. I've launched XDCAM EX Clip Browser and I am assuming I choose "Import" from the file menu. I will look at the user manual from the help menu. With your workflow, could you or anyone give me a step by step on importing clips into the laptop using one, or two cards at a time? much appreciated!

Other cameramen have had problems joining 2 clips from 2 separate cards. The solution is to put both cards in the camera as it will play seamlessly with no problems.
