I am pretty impressed so far. This is a pretty vibration rich environment and the 5D handled it pretty well.
Cheers,

James Miller December 4th, 2008, 04:13 AM I don't think its shows off the camera that well. It would be great to see with a few more lens's and different focus depths. It's looks like its was all on auto including white balance.
Good to see, thanks for the link.
Jon Fairhurst December 4th, 2008, 11:53 AM Very sweet! This video gives some ideas as to what could be possible with the 5D.
Is this a custom 'copter or a kit? Thanks!
Tabb Firchau December 4th, 2008, 04:07 PM Thanks John!
The copter is a custom version of the minicopter joker (minicopter.de) with a copterworks camera gimbal (copterworks.com)
Both are excellent quality and make obtaining smooth stable footage a little less daunting.
Cheers,
Tabb
Dylan Couper December 6th, 2008, 02:44 AM This is the coolest thing I've seen today!
Oleg Kalyan December 6th, 2008, 01:11 PM Very impressed, thanks for posting it..
Sean Seah December 9th, 2008, 04:02 AM cool. Thaz a monster heli. I was shocked to see the size of the 5D relative to the heli!
Anmol Mishra January 10th, 2009, 09:27 PM 2500 USD WOW
That is the same price as the 5D Mark II.
Any good DIY 3-axis gimbals out there ??

What was he supposed to do, get an elf to ride along and make adjustments <g>?
Julian Frost January 15th, 2009, 03:18 PM If you're a ham radio operator, you could include one of these very small, light-weight video transmitters to give you live video back to your control point. You could see what you're shooting as you're flying!
Like I said, though, you must have a ham radio license to use one of these transmitters. Getting a ham radio license in the USA is very easy these days (no knowledge of Morse code is required anymore).

That looks pretty interesting Julian, especially since I am an amateur radio operator. Thanks for the info. I corrected the link for you as it had an extra right bracket and it wouldn't work. The corrected link takes you to the correct page now.
Matt Buys January 16th, 2009, 11:24 PM Tabb, that is fantastic footage. Please post more footage. That is a great set-up.
