Our EX3 is great! However, on two occasions the record button on the grip has stopped working. You can push and push but it won't start recording. The back up of course is to use the record button on the top handle which seems to work fine.

Anyone else experience this? Does the button for rotating the grip play in to this?

2 reasons come to mind.

1. The connection is intermittent and the camera will need servicing if the problem becomes consistent. If you cannot alway press the handle record button, maybe set the record to assign button 4. I have it set up permanently. I was so used to recording from the front of my DXCD50 for years that I only used the lens button when hand held. Assign 4 allows me to keep up my old habit. I find it great.

2. Could you have recorded, stopped and recorded again almost instantly after stopping the record? The SxS card may not have set itself up for a new clip. The red LED lights up for about 1 or maybe 2 seconds at the end of my recordings and I must wait a moment or two before recording again.

I had this problem before, but i was pushing the wrong button, I was pushing the handle release button and did not look for the record red light.
