OK, so I'm a kind of "hiding under a rock" kind of guy when it comes to all this new stuff, but yesterday, whilst visiting one of the local dept. stores tech sections, noticed not only two sub $1k Blu Ray players, but a shed load of HDD recorders at very reasonable prices.
However:
We now have terrestrial HD, and in order to "time shift", are recording to "steam vcr" which is, natch, SD.
So, the question is:
Anyone seen an HD HDD (High Definition, Hard Disk Drive) recorder, with or without built in tuner, which will allow for the real time recording of HD "free to air" content?
I only ask as down here in NZ, we don't see any of this stuff till it's practically obsolete (I only partially jest).
Any sightings?

PS: You may safely discount the "with or without tuner" comment, the grey cell has worked out a recorder without tuner is a bit of a waste of time.
