So I got a Quantaray lens stuck on a Nikon mount... I was so sure that it would fit because it fits on my Nikon D50. I have taken the mount off and tried to twist as hard as possible to get it off but that has not worked! Any help would be appreciated, because I borrowed the lens and need to return it (without breaking it). Thanks in advance!

OK, It's obviously cross threaded itself some how. It happens.

You have three holes on the outer ring showing in your picture.

Lay a piece of cloth onto a block of hardwood and clamp it to a work bench or strong table.

Take 3 small PZ1 screws and going through each of the holes screw the entire assembly to the piece of wood.

This will now give you the firm resistance you'll need from the nikon mount to turn the lens out.

I've had a similar problem and this worked a treat.

Thanks for the help, although I unfortunately did not get to try your method, I got it off by taking a screwdriver and wedging it somehow! that was soooo weird!

Screwdriver, force, near the lens?
You must be very confident of your screwdriver forcing abilities!
Glad you managed to remove it successfully.

Hahaha yeah, I know, it was scary, but I was pushing away from the lens and figured i wouldn't be able to scratch it very easily ;) it was still kind of scary, but i was frustrated!
