Im looking into the HDV Boom K8 Jib from B-Hague.

Has anyone got this? Any test footage of photos, or general comments would really be helpful.

Many thanks

Yeh, I have. I was planning to do a little review, but just haven't had time yet (Along with various other items).

It's okay for some things, but is a little limiting. The way it's constructed is solid, as in it won't break, but on the full length is really quite bouncy and naturally has a slight 'bow' to it - the metal doesn't bend, it's just that the joints separate very slightly which makes it look bowed.

I really notice the 'curve' you get as the camera goes from high to low (i.e. gets closer to and further from the subject), but you'd get that on other designs too.

The wire is a bit fiddly to get on and off (hurts your fingers too).

I'm using an XH-A1 and when you're on full length you need quite a weight the other end to balance it. Make sure you have a reasonable tripod, I tend to set the legs out a little to spread the load. There is a moveable weight to fine tune which is useful.

I have had the wire slip occasionally when trying to point the camera too far down or up. I was hoping to be able to put a head on the end to point the camera at 90 degrees, but it raises the centre of gravity a bit high, so again the wire slips very easily.

Having said that I've not seen anything better at the price and it does get you shots you would otherwise just not be able to do. I probably will end up selling it to get a sturdier model that has it's own stand though, when I have the funds.

If you have any particular questions then let me know.
