Hi
Was wondering for some assistance please?
Am trying to stabilize my XH-A1 and am finding it quite difficult to get it completely balanced. I am following the book and dvd that comes with the Merlin and using the Cookbook settings and getting nowhere fast!!!
Has anybody had any experiences with this?
Thanks

From an earlier post of mine,
My settings with the bp-950g battery... I have the spar extended all the way, and I have 5 mid weights and one finish on the lower spar, and one mid and one finish on the upper spar, and I've raised the stage by 4 turns of the gimbal. G-platz screw just between the focus and zoom rings. Camera mounted using the I hole.
Give that a try.

There is a nice video tutorial on exposureroom about this very combination:

The video seems very convincing but the settings didn't work for me. Could be that I was using a different battery.
I find that the Merlin needs adjusting frequently but it works fine after a bit of practice. The settings aren't absolute. They need tweaking all the time.
Once you have got the principles of how to balance it sorted out it's easier. A bit like learning to ride a bike I suppose.
