I recently bought an HV30 to use as a 3rd camera at weddings. The first two I've shot have no audio on the tape from the HV30. I just checked the audio levels display and it's showing that the mic is picking up sound.

Anyone else experience this issue? Any ideas?

Just finished running quick test and it is recording audio to tape now. I even used the same tape from the wedding that was lacking audio. So it's not a tape issue. I don't know why the camera would not record audio. I don't see any menu settings that could turn audio recording off.

Did you use an external mic? If the mic isn't fully plugged in then it records nothing otherwise maybe an external mic option on the menu may have been enabled? (Not by my cam so can't check)

No external mic used .. in fact I've never used an external mic with the camera. I didn't change any menu settings before I ran the test yesterday, and it recorded audio just fine for some reason. Very strange.
