Hey everyone, it's been several months since I've been on this forum, I've forgotten how helpful it can be. Here's one of my latest weddings shot in Mexico. Shot with my trusty XHA1, a homemade 35mm adapter, edited in FCP. Whuddya think?

Josh - I liked it a lot. Thought there might have been too much of the smiling groom at front of the video and not sure if I would have closed with the cake in the face -not very romantic, but then this couple seemed kinda playful so you know what works best. Loved the groom footware!

I have to agree that the ending shot felt out of place for an ending shot. I would have ended with the time lapse of the sunset that you used earlier in the video, or maybe used something else. I know it wouldn't make sense to go straight from a night-time reception to a sunset shot, so maybe to a quick recap of shots from various times of the day right near the end of the video, then end with the sunset. Just an idea.

Some of the shots (not all) also seemed a bit light on the contrast.

Otherwise I thought it was paced well and had some good shots. Were you shooting in 24F on the A1? I loved the fountain shot! It looked like film.

I really dug it! I didn't think the cake was so bad, but I would have preferred to end on a kiss... or grand exit, last dance, etc. For all I know that really shows the personalities of the b&g.. so I liked it, just not as an final shot. Caught a few of your shadows around 2:00. Liked it a lot, watched it twice!

Hey Josh,

I am flying to Mexico in a few months to film a friends wedding.
I plan on bringing my Canon XH-A1 plus a couple of HV20's along with a wireless mic and a small tripod and a few other accessories.
Did you have to do anything special to get through customs?

I thought it looked pretty good!
I love the music and how you go along with the beats.
I also own A1, and I was wondering if you used any preset.
Thank you for sharing your work!

Paul, basically they just searched pretty thoroughly through all of my bags but nothing out of the ordinary. They looked at my 35mm adapter kind of strangely but didn't question me or anything. You should be fine with everything.

JJ, I pretty much always use the Vision 02 preset, I like it a lot. When my 35mm adapter is on it sure doesn't work as well, but for all the non adapter stuff it's the best look for what I'm doing. Here's the link to where I found it: New VISION02 preset test on Vimeo (http://www.vimeo.com/1768429)
