The only thing that I found a few days ago was a thread with just one reply and after posting my response my post appeared above the previous post so I was "moved" into 2nd place instead of "third" ... I just figured that maybe the first replier had edited his post so it then appeared after me.

Not really an issue at all though!

Sorry, this seems to be the nearest I can get to the home page. I'm just getting what looks like HTML when I attempt to open the forum's home page, quickly followed by "page not found". I don't know if it's just me or a more general issue. It's been like this for the last couple of days.

Seems to be a Firefox thing, since I've got on with I.E.

Happend to me a few times yesterday evening. (Was using an android phone).
When trying to access the home page of the forum, all I got was a bunch of code lines.

Today all is good again.

If the problem persists clear your cache and cookies since something was being retained from the prior episode.

shows it's images as links rather than thumbnails. Is there a way for me to fix this? The edit time limit has passed.

It looks like ALL images posted after the server problems are now just a link; the pictures open in a new tab.

Oy, Yowza. Allow me some time to suss this one out. When it rains, it pours!

So right now you can upload .PNG and .GIF images and they will embed as thumbnails like they are supposed to, but .JPG files are links. Narrowing it down. Thanks for your patience.

I'm having the same problem as Michael C Ray. If I click on my name where it says "welcome" or any posts I've made, I get details of Bill Parker in Cambridge MA, not mine. If anyone wants to contact me, they'll get through to Bill, not me !!
My log in page "contacts" are correct though. I've sent an email to info at dvinfo dot net and one to Chris but not had any reply, perhaps its going to my friend Bill?

Post #3 is dated September 10th but didn't appear in the thread ( on my machine) until September 13th.

Ditto post #5, dated September 13th, but didn't arrive in the thread (on my machine) until this AM, September 19th.

Thought it was my antediluvian Win XP machine having a freak out, but checked the thread out from my missus' Win 7 laptop yesterday (September 18th), no post #5, either logged in or out.

I'm now suspicious whether the non response to my post in this thread http://www.dvinfo.net/forum/tripod-sticks-heads/524878-help-identifying-sachtler-tripod.html is a non response or the response has itself disappeared into the twilight zone.

(To be clear, at the time of writing this, 0910hrs, Sept. 19th, that second thread has only two posts visible, the last being mine on Sept. 11th, huh, 9/11, ooh, that's spooky!)

I can't shed any light on whether this is restricted to just this one Forum as I rarely post elsewhere.

I really think that reason why you're not seeing a reply to your post is because that person hasn't made one. It's regrettable that some folks don't bother to follow up after you've taken the time to reply. In my opinion it's kind of rude, in fact, but there's not much we can do about it.

I think it needs looking in to as at least 2 of us are getting wrong details, so on the law of averages there are a lot more that don't realise it.

The solution was to tell it to present a member's profile page with the member record number plus the username in the URL. Not elegant, but it works. Finally.

Fixed.

The navigate tab on the home page does not work on the site when I use my Iphone 6. Works fine on my Ipad and computer.

I am missing the notification emails when someone posts after me in a thread.
Sometimes I get them, but often not.
When I receive the notifications, it is usually several hours after the post was made.

I am not sure when this issue began, but at least the last couple days.

The email notifications about new posts in subscribed threads, are missing again.
Haven't received any during the last week or two.

All of my e-mail notifications quit coming in about 10 days ago. Complete silence......

I've been trying to send a private message to another member with no success.

I click on the member's name. I go to the member's page. I click "Send Message." A small drop-down box opens saying "Send message to Firstname Lastname" (with the member's actual name). And that's as far as I get. No message window opens; no text input field opens.

I'm pretty sure I've used this feature in the past. Am I doing something wrong, or is the BBS not working correctly?

I am receiving the message:

And then remembered that I planned to post about the cert being expired since a couple of years back.

I cannot upload pictures due to a 'security token' issue. Help.

The newer web browsers are beginning to warn about this site is using the non-encrypted http protocol.
The certificate used for the https is more then 3 years old and not valid.

Would it be possible for to set up the correct https with perhaps using a free certificate from letsencrypt?
