View Full Version : Release date on 5DmkII yet? Dylan Couper October 19th, 2008, 05:52 PM Just wondering if anyone has any real world numbers on a release date for the 5DmkII? Charlie Gillespie October 19th, 2008, 07:56 PM October 18th but back-ordered like you wouldn't believe.... Nick Hiltgen October 20th, 2008, 09:13 AM Really? Where are you seeing that? BH says it's not available until november or december for the body only. Chris Hurd October 20th, 2008, 09:18 AM October 18th is incorrect. I don't know where that date came from. Charlie Gillespie October 20th, 2008, 11:43 AM Sorry .... I got my info from my Canon dealer, guess they were wrong. I can't get mine until after Jan 1st anyway (biz budget kicks in) Josh Brusin November 7th, 2008, 11:10 PM any update... Chris Hurd November 8th, 2008, 08:21 AM Sometime this month is what I've been told... any time between now and Nov. 30th. Just yesterday I saw the production model packaging (in other words, the box it comes in), so they must be getting close to their shipping date. I'll post that pic in a separate thread. Michael Moore November 21st, 2008, 11:38 AM For what it is worth, my local camera shop "Broadway Camera" (no not the NYC scam site) has told me Dec 5th. There are also rumors that the camera by be released on the 28th in the USA. Unfortunately there is no way to be sure. It reminds me of X-Mas when i was a kid... nothing anticipation and hope that you got what you asked Santa for :) John Benton November 21st, 2008, 07:25 PM ...and many shops are not taking pre orders Chris Hurd November 22nd, 2008, 09:49 AM Well it's on the shelves at this moment in China... 5D MKII Hits China Market Today [Page 1]: Canon EOS-1D / 1Ds / 5D Forum: Digital Photography Review (http://forums.dpreview.com/forums/readflat.asp?forum=1032&thread=30098447) Dee Joslin November 22nd, 2008, 09:53 AM If you go to this site and click on the red 5D Mark ll HD box, some information comes up with a date of 11/29/08. Two other dates, today and the 23rd are also listed. I can't read Japanese or translate the flash page, but I'd be interested in whats happening on that date. Anyone read Japanese? キヤノン:デジタル一眼レフカメラ (http://cweb.canon.jp/camera/eosd/index.html) Daniel Lipats November 22nd, 2008, 12:20 PM "Premium lectures in Nagoya 22 Nov. Osaka 23,24 Nov." The Broadway Camera in Richmond (perhaps vancouver too), was one of the first places to receive the D700 when it first came out. It stocked it atleast a few days earlier than most places in the states. Bob Thompson November 24th, 2008, 10:35 PM The camera was released today (25th November 2008) in Hong Kong stores. The body only, recommended retail price is HK$ 20,800. There maybe only slight discounts in stores as first batch of delivery is very limited. The camera is in the Canon showroom at Tsim Sha Tsui for those wanting to examine it James Miller November 26th, 2008, 07:29 AM Park Cameras in the UK have just called to confirm that my 5D mk II pre order will be ready to pick up this Friday (28th). Now just to find the cash. Park Cameras (http://www.parkcameras.com/) Evan Donn December 1st, 2008, 04:15 PM just got a confirmation email from Ritz saying my camera has shipped - I didn't order until after seeing 'Reverie' (maybe 2-3 weeks after the camera was announced) so I assume that means they're shipping enough to fill most of the initial orders. Paying sales tax would suck, but this whack-a-mole game with online shops can get tiresome. Thanks! |
