Hi Everyone,

I did a search on this, and there doesn't seem to be much info w/ this happening on an EX3.

I'm an EX1 owner who ordered an EX3 last month. It came while I was away on location and by the time I returned, the time I could return it to B&H had expired.

Two days ago, I shot some exteriors w/ ND2 on my new EX3. Much to my disappointment, today I looked at my footage and noticed that the back focus was out severely.

I implemented FB Adjust as prescribed in the Sony manual w/ a very large BF chart, iris wide open, different ND settings, all to no avail. Even though the camera gave me the "OK", the BF is just as far out as it was originally.

So I guess I'm stuck sending this back to Sony. Prepaid! I'm very disappointed. My EX1 had the same problem, but I was able to get it back to B&H in time.

What have I missed? Are there any options left before I have to send this halfway across the country?

Thanks for your help,

Jac

You should have gone through the auto flange adjustment procedure before using the camera.

Check your manual (page 34) for the proper steps. It takes about 5 minutes from start to finish.

Thanks, Jay.

I already did that before I used it the first time and after I found out there was a problem.

Thanks, though.

You're sure it gave you a positive reading when it was completed?

Yes, sir.

It gave me the "OK" in the bottom of the viewfinder each time after it went through the Auto FB ADJ.

Could you post a few screen grabs--zoomed in and zoomed out?
