Please excuse me if this has already been asked and ansered, I can't find it in the search function.

I am really interested in Adobe's Onlocation. Is there any way to get a trial version of it to try it out before buying Premier? If so, does anyone have a link as I can't find it on their site. Just CS4 and am then told it isn't available yet.

I think the only way to get it for try out is to get the Production Premium suite....

Jason... I think Ray's right. I don't think Adobe break out the "minor" bits into separate trials.

On Location is a bit of a corner case. Not everyone needs it but when you do, it's killer.

I shoot motor racing, and when it's not raining I'll bring a laptop, a USB drive and On Location. With this kit I never have to worry about changing tapes.

On Location has some good tools in it but the UI is a bit of a kluge. Looks like it was built in flash or something like it. Once you set up the windows you want, it's just blow and go.

If you just found a CS3 trial for download it's likely not an Adobe-authorized one. I just looked at the Adobe download site and there's no CS3 product up there. Your trial might be a bit cock-eyed.

You can do one of two things. Wait for the CS4 release, which Adobe claim is this month. Or you can call Adobe sales and ask how to get an On Location trial.

The templates are not a huge deal since you can create them yourself. It's not hard.

Thank you very much, I will contact Adobe. We are looking at switching NLE's, so maybe Adobe will end up being what we want.

Hmm. That kind of stinks. I wonder why they do that?

It's because they (Adobe) licenses some stuff from other developers. Like codecs and such. Their license agreement does not allow them to distribute trial copies for those. Also Encore is not available as a trial at all. I'm not sure about OnLocation, but it is probably available in the Master Collection trial when that comes out.
