I need something that I can shoot with in Airports without drawing too much attention. I just need to get stock footage and do some interviewing with. Wide Screen is more important than HD. Prefer to stay under a grand. Any suggestions> I posted this question earlier but for some reason I can't see the text. That explains why nobody has answered it yet.

Thanks for your input

A Sony A1 would do it. I'm sure there are many other options. However you wouldn't get it new for this price.
However I'm not sure that I'd want to do clandestine filming in airports in the current political climate.

One of the best deals around is the Canon HV30 (or at an even better price the out-going HV20 which is little different). This cam produces amazing results and looks just like a 'picnic-cam' so wouldn't draw attention to you. Mini DV, HDV, and has a great following.
