Sweet and simple and does the job. :) Brandon Greenlee March 14th, 2005, 08:43 PM Have pictures of it in action? Cheers, Brandon Greenlee March 20th, 2005, 12:42 PM Nice setup. Love the tons of monitors, but the clutterness scares me. I'm trying to re-arrange my setup now to be super open. I feel like my creativity is being stifled being in a cluttered work enviroment. How stupid is that? Nice, expensive looking setup though. Ed Smith March 23rd, 2005, 12:51 PM Thanks Brandon! There is a reason for the clutter. I don't s yet have any storage. So for the moment my desk is taking it. I don't mind it as much... At least I know where everything is. Cheers, Matthew Cherry March 24th, 2005, 06:03 PM Here's mine.... www.birthofthecool.com/images/studiogear/stuido.jpg I've recently added a sony 14" production monitor and moved in more of my rack gear, so I'll have to update the pic, but this should give you and idea. It actually fits 2 discussions so here it is. I am shooting a music video promotional piece with an old producer pal of mine Saturday so earlier this week, I spent some major money and bought the following to add to the collection of camera gear: Century Optics WA adapter Varizoom VZRock zoom/focus controller Bogen 501 head to replace the 3130QR on the 3011BN sticks Bogen 3127 dolly Glidecam 2000 CraneCam 200 I have everything put together except the crane. I hope to get to it tomorrow evening after my Tai Chi classes. If anyone wants to buy the nearly brand-new 3130QR (quick release) head, I'll let it go at wholesale to recoup my outlay. Make an offer. http://www.bogenimaging.us/product/...id=9&itemid=287 See you guys. You can still see the last round of purchases and the camera burried under other goodies at the following: http://home.columbus.rr.com/deepblu...onal/Studio.htm More pix with the new stuff later. Sean Todd Kivimaki May 23rd, 2005, 10:48 PM Just thought I'd share a couple of pictures of my work station. Just got the Dell 20.1" widescreen, and love it. Got a great price off of slickdeals.net Here it is: Edit 1 (http://www.videomemoriesinc.com/pics/editing1.jpg) Edit 2 (http://www.videomemoriesinc.com/pics/editing2.jpg) Here's a closer shot of the printer, it's an Epson r300, with a Bulk ink system, if you guys print a lot this is definatly the way to go, printing is virtually free. Printer (http://www.videomemoriesinc.com/pics/printer.jpg) James Connors May 30th, 2005, 10:03 AM Sean: You haven't cut and pasted your links properly I'm afraid, they don't work. Tommy Haupfear June 5th, 2005, 08:53 PM Rick Bravo, that is one amazing setup. I'm guessing you work for Miami-Dade County? If so, I was curious if you used Datastream 7i product (for fleet inventory/maintenance)? Sean McHenry July 5th, 2005, 03:27 PM The links were posted before they were automatically being parsed by this server. Here is the link again. I think this will work. http://home.columbus.rr.com/deepblueedit/Personal/Studio.htm if not it's DeepBlueEdit.com/Personal/Studio.htm Sean Jon Hockman July 7th, 2005, 10:47 PM Hey everyone, I am very new to this forum and just figured I would post my workspace as well. Here you go: http://www.truemedia-evolution.com/images/my%20pics/my%20workspace/My%20Workspace.jpg http://www.truemedia-evolution.com/images/my%20pics/my%20workspace/My%20Workspace%20004.jpg The camera is a JVC JY-HD10. Don't worry, for the CD compasionate, that CD my glass is sitting on has been made into a coaster. A set of them was a gift from my sister for christmas. The sad part is they are all over 5 years old and I would have still loved to put them in my computer and use them. One of them is full version of the original virutal pool for heaven's sake. :) Jacques Star July 10th, 2005, 07:58 PM Don't have pics of my edit bay, but I do have some cool production stills. Just go to: http://www.jacquesstarvideo.com Michael Pappas July 23rd, 2005, 09:28 PM Here is my edit system. I keep it very simple and small. More like a digital version of a Moviola Upright. I hate to have technology as the center piece in a creative area. http://www.pbase.com/pappasarts21/image/46624594 http://www.pbase.com/pappasarts21/image/46624595 Pappas Lorinda Norton July 23rd, 2005, 11:47 PM Just saw Michael's post; just happened to have my 6' table as clean as it's ever gonna get. Don't look if clutter hurts your eyes. I'm not a pro, after all, and I'm messy. :) http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a215/ljeanne/homeworkspacecopy.jpg (I hope the link works and that it's click-able; when I cleaned I moved the scrap of paper that showed how to do that.) EDIT: Something didn't seem quite right so I measured the thing. It's eight feet! And if it was ten I'd have that space filled, too. :) Chris Hurd July 24th, 2005, 12:11 AM Yeah, I've got one of those tables! They're handy, eh Lorinda? Pappas Rick Bravo July 24th, 2005, 01:24 PM Hey Lor, Who's the fuzzy mutt under the table?! Is he/she working security? :) RB P.S. Nice coffee mug you got there! ;) Lorinda Norton July 24th, 2005, 02:16 PM LOL, Rick!! I hoped you would notice that cool mug/pen/flashlight holder! And just for grins, that's your Web site on the LCD monitor (sorry about the picture quality--old camera). I've finally stopped drooling over your stuff. As for the Border Collie, he is just one of three. I call them my "Border Patrol," which made your question that much funnier. :) What a relief to see your replies, earlier, Chris and Michael. I was feeling pretty embarrassed for sharing my "editing table." :) K. Forman July 24th, 2005, 02:52 PM Hey Lorinda.... Where are the fluffy, color-coordinated pillows and stuffed animals? hehehe Lorinda Norton July 24th, 2005, 03:32 PM You guys from Florida should start your own comedy club. http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a215/ljeanne/forKeith.jpg K. Forman July 24th, 2005, 03:37 PM You're pretty funny yourself! Thought you worked alone? :) Mike Lorinda Norton July 24th, 2005, 03:53 PM Holy Smoke, there's another one! Is everyone in Florida a comedian? :) I see you know the breed, Mike. Busy lot, those Border Collies. All they do is keep me vacuuming my rig that doubles for hauling them around besides my audio/video gear. K. And the bartender says, "What is this, some kind of joke?" Mike K. Forman July 24th, 2005, 04:02 PM That's a lot better than what I had :) Nathan Chaszeyka July 24th, 2005, 08:33 PM I didn't even bother to clean up so excuse the mess but I wanted to invite you all in to my home work area for a minute. Have a look and tell me what you think. http://homepage.mac.com/nathan_chaszeyka/PhotoAlbum7.html Rick Bravo July 25th, 2005, 07:48 AM So, John Kerry walks into a bar. Bartender says: "Why the long face?" :) OK, I'll stop now! RB Lorinda Norton July 25th, 2005, 08:32 AM Somebody, call the Florida zoo-- put all these monkeys back in their cages! (RB, you are incorrigible.) :) Nice setup, Nathan! K. Forman July 25th, 2005, 11:19 AM We RUN the zoo! Now back off, before we fling poop at you! hehehe Nathan Chaszeyka July 25th, 2005, 12:41 PM Thank you Lorinda....now its time to start earning a return on my investments I hope. Bret Pritchett July 26th, 2005, 03:13 AM I didn't even bother to clean up so excuse the mess but I wanted to invite you all in to my home work area for a minute. It's not a mess until you can't see the table. ;) Tommy Haupfear July 28th, 2005, 10:31 PM An updated shot of my setup. I added the Dell 2005fpw 20.1" widescreen LCD last week. Its really great for the price ($359)! Click here for photo (http://img.villagephotos.com/p/2002-12/74415/Picture1167_filtered(Medium).jpg) Sorry, I didn't use a flash as I don't have a bounce and I was trying to avoid washing out the screen. Tommy, You absolutely did the right thing to avoid using a flash. The image is perfectly exposed for this application and without the potential washing out you mentioned. Nice job. Continued success, Steph Lorinda Norton July 29th, 2005, 10:03 AM Tommy, you paid $359 for that 20" LCD??? Dang! I paid almost that for a basic 17"! (Which reminds me, I've gotta look through a pile and find that rebate...) That's a neat deal you've got going on there. Love the case, BTW. Not to take this where it doesn't belong, but do you edit exclusively for Web on those monitors? (question to Michael, as well.) Tommy Haupfear July 30th, 2005, 10:11 PM Lorinda, Dell has been having quite a few specials lately on their LCD monitors. I always check http://www.gotapex.com for the latest Dell coupons/deals. As for editing on the LCD monitors. I edit for both television and web on the monitors but I'm lost without some sort of small CRT based TV for playback. LCD monitors can be deceptive in representing what a NTSC analog monitor would display. Brent Ray July 31st, 2005, 12:00 AM I recently added a ZR-1000 zoom controller, Tiffen UV filter, and the EQ-XL1 windscreen to my XL2. The tripod is a bogen 3051 with a 501 head. http://www.sweepinghalo.com/pics/XL2/xl2_01.jpg http://www.sweepinghalo.com/pics/XL2/xl2_02.jpg Max Wilson July 31st, 2005, 08:21 PM Here is my setup... I also have 3 high-end web servers in my network closet set up for network rendering. I got over 1TB of disk space between all the computers. I do all the video work at this station. http://bin1.myphotoupload.com/P1010083.JPG http://bin1.myphotoupload.com/P1010084.JPG Digital Audio Studio, powered buy 4 networked computers can create a full symphony. This is my dad’s setup and he is the composer in the house... And we do all the audio here... http://bin1.myphotoupload.com/P1010088.JPG Oh BTW, the desk in my video editing station i built from plumbing pipe and some nice wood work. Nathan Chaszeyka August 18th, 2005, 10:56 AM I finally got the time to take pics of my inventory. Everything can be seen at this address now instead of the one I posted earlier. http://homepage.mac.com/nathan_chaszeyka/PhotoAlbum8.html Nick Jushchyshyn August 30th, 2005, 08:46 AM Here's a couple pics of my little home office: http://www.jushhome.com/nick/images/workspace_thumb.jpg http://www.jushhome.com/nick/images/workspace2_thumb.jpg http://www.jushhome.com/nick/images/workspace3_thumb.jpg The last shoot I was on had a really really cool setup.
