Movie posters. Well here's an idea I had thought of a few months ago but didn't really do anything about it until now. I haven't really seen anyone else doing these, but I'm getting a huge response from it though and thought I would share. I'm going to put together another one..more detailed...from my wedding coming up this weekend and then I'll go to print and see how they turn out. This one is just a first draft, but I'll be playing around to see what else I can come up with.

cool! Thanks for sharing. I knew someone had to have done these before. So many ways that it can be done...I'll see what I can come up with from this weekend.

This is cool and something I thought of doing a while back as well, however, I didn't think I'd get paid for my time and effort. Are you guys finding that your couples are willing to pay you for these?

And by pay I mean, they are paying enough to cover your design time and printing costs. d;-)

but I'm getting a huge response from it though and thought I would share.Yes, what Travis said. What does "huge response" mean? Are they selling like hotcakes or is this another time wasting gimmick that yields nothing more than bloodshot eyes from being in photoshop for days?

Days? It doesn't take me days to make a poster... maybe an hour.

It's really cool if you get a poster made prior to the wedding. I made the Cody and Jen one a week before and brought it to the reception and put it on a stand at the entrance. I had to move it further inside because so many people were stopping to look at it they were getting backed up. It's also easy advertising for yourself.

So the question still stands. Are you getting compensated for these or is it just written off as marketing for you?

Days? It doesn't take me days to make a poster... maybe an hour.I know - I was being sarcastic. I just get turned off by all "pretty" and no profit.

Remember, you're talking to someone who charged a florist $100 for delivering one of his items to a church even though I was going there anyway. :)

The posters look great by the way. Jerome with JC/DV mentioned above has been doing these for a while as well. Not sure about his success with it but if anybody can pull it off - he certainly can.

I have actually seen them at reception venues a couple of times. They are usually mounted on an easel and the guests sign it with a sharpie. Some photographers do these.
