edited on my hp laptop with adobe premiere 6

its for my state arts commission.. rules: under 3 minutes, had to include a toaster somewhere ..

I liked it. It was a fun idea and I liked a lot of shot composition
and editing. I think it could have used a desatuared almost B&W
(perhaps shifting it to brown/yellow a bit) look.

If I'm not mistaken you used copyrighted music. That's a dangerous
thing....

i tried different looks, and the desaturation looked almost too bland..

yea i do need to change the music..

Awesome! Wish I'd thought of it. The shot of the toast popping out got me. I hate you for the location (not for using it in the movie, though). I've been searching for an area that looks like that. . .apparently there aren't any near or in Houston. So I'm one jealous monkey.

heh.. yea i'm out in the middle of nowhere.. theres plenty of area like this..

Very neat! A comment: some of your shots would be more effective with a tripod. While it's a pain in the neck to lug a big 'ol pod around, if you can use it for the majority of your still shots, your audience will be better focused on the subject of the shot rather than any new content/matter introduced by a roving camera lens. Great original work, and very nifty cutting!

Good stuff Ryan. Maybe it's just me but I felt sorry for the toaster by the end of it - so something worked!

I loved the toast popping too.

thanks everybody..

as for the tripod.. i got use of the first location and the actor together on very short notice.. (he actually shipped off to the merchant marines academy the day after i filmed most of it)..

all i had was a monopod at the time, and it only worked so well for some shots..

The important thing here I reckon, is that you went out and did it. Just gotta keep shooting and shooting and you'll get better each time.

it's hard to get people to stick to their word and take you seriously about this when your my age..
