A faster version of Magic Bullet is out, and it's suppose to be 3.8x faster then the current version. But the update, as far as I read, is only for P4 systems.

Yang Wen August 6th, 2003, 10:51 PM 280% faster, so they say.. shesshh, this just tells you how unefficient the algorithm was in the first version. Rob Lohman August 11th, 2003, 08:58 AM Most software algorithms are... I mean, what really does work faster on 2 GHZ PC compared to a 400 mhz celeron system? Only the highly optimized graphics rendering engines mostly. Optimizing engines & algorithms is a real hard thing to do. It takes practice, a lot of time and knowledge.... Dave Valencic August 13th, 2003, 04:52 PM I went to my friend's studio and they were rendering a corperate video (2min) in Magic Bullet, and even on their dual 2.4Ghz Xeon system with 2Gb of ram it was painfully slow. Agus Casse August 17th, 2003, 04:16 PM Is the updated free of charge ? and if it does, where i could get it ? Barend Onneweer August 19th, 2003, 02:32 PM It's a free update, but 1.5 hasn't been released yet, it's still in beta. It's optimized for p4, but runs fine on AMD too, haven't done comparitive speed tests yet :-) Bar3nd Dave Valencic August 19th, 2003, 08:03 PM I can't wait to see the performance on a dual 2Ghz G5.... Yang Wen August 20th, 2003, 07:56 AM Yes...i'd like to see that, then hopefully, it would finally shut apple's yap. Bram Corstjens August 30th, 2003, 07:06 PM Is there also a version coming for After Effects 6.0 (pro) since that's available now... Barend Onneweer August 31st, 2003, 05:49 PM Magic Bullet Suite 1.1 doesn't run well on AE 6.0. Magic Bullet Suite 1.5 will fix this and is currently in beta. |
