Hi there

If you are on a budget try TMPGEnc Express 4.0... I find use it for most encoding, even wmv and find it better than the Premiere ones.
TMPGEnc - Products: TMPGEnc 4.0 XPress Product Information (http://tmpgenc.pegasys-inc.com/en/product/te4xp.html)

Its a pretty good encoder for less than 100 $

cheers

I second Gareth. TMPGEnc is awesome. I also suggest downloading a frameserve application to bypass AME altogether and encode straight into TMPGEnc.

I like Debugmode: Debugmode FrameServer Homepage (http://www.debugmode.com/frameserver/)

Try Xvid4PSP (Winnydows: XviD4PSP & GlassBalance: News).

It is a free tool and doing a great job encoding
