See photo link. It's the ew-100 series. This shoe mount also has a threaded hole. But there's this protrusion which makes it impossible to slide on a hot shoe? What's the deal here? Thanks

Looks to me like the threaded bushing wasn't installed properly, it wasn't seated all the way in the hole. Maybe you can just push it in, or tap it in with a hammer. I'm sure Sennheiser would also send you a new one if you asked.

funny, I tried so many things and nothing worked. All I did was press it against the floor, thanks.

Yes the brass bush has not been pressed in properly I have one of mine here and the bush is flush with the plastic shoe.

It may be possible to push it in with a small vice, take the shoe off the base plate and place a piece if card on each side to protect the plastic, be real careful not to crush the plastic.

Or as suggested contact sennheiser and see if they will replace it.

I'd like to take this opportunity to complain in general about the g2 hotshoe adapters. Man are they a pain in the ass to get on/off when you are short on time. Actually, they are a pain in the ass when you arent short on time either. Sure is an odd solution to an otherwise elegant wireless rig.

Well I can tell you that the ends of MY spring clip were not bent at 90 degrees so I had lots of fun with needle nosed pliers getting the damn thing on. I'd like to see the guy in the video putting mine on with just his fingers!

If you guys think the Sennheiser is a pain in the ass, you should see what Sony came with their knock off, copy cat UWP series receiver. It's just like the Sennheiser shoe adapter, only with a tighter tolerance. You'll break a nail trying to get that one off. Hopefully you have a leatherman and didn't lose it at the airport security checkpoint :)

Years ago, I detached the shoe mount from the plate and reattached it below the groove in which the horizontal portion of the clip lies. (See time 0:37 in the Vimeo video link above to see the original location of the shoe mount.) This allows me to slide the receiver onto/off the plate with ease. There is no need to detach the silver wire clip.
