I was recently filming with the mic plugged into input 1 and the metal release broke off so now the mic is stuck and I can't release it. Does anybody know a way to get it out?

Thin screw drived to depress the rest of the release ??

The only part of the metal release that broke of was the "Push" part. So I can't even fit a screwdriver in there

Is there enough metal sticking out that you could get a drop of crazy glue on the end of a miniature scrwdriver and glue it on? I think if it works you can get it apart with a little nail polish remover.

I think it's a lousy way to do it, but given that the camera is going to have to go in for repair anyhow, I'd rather send them a camera with a screwdriver stuck on it than send them my mic!

I can try it. But if anybody has any other suggestions, I'll take them because i would really like to not have to send it in at all and just use input 2. Thanks.

I think usually crazy glue can be dissolved with a little nail polish remover.

None of this is something I would like to do but...

By the way, I just had a thought - could you take a picture of the broken button and post it so we could get a better idea of the situation?

Edit:

You might be able to get tool and die or precision machining shop to get it out - they have all kinds of tools and fixtures that might let them stabilize the camera relative to the tool enough to let it push directly down on the remaining piece of the lever.
