no offence to anyone, but the footage i have seen from the dvx100 looks ok but everything everyone films and puts on the web sucks, meaning everyone is filming like rooms, and camera bags, and hands and stuff. I want to see some REAL ART. like THE BEST TIME LAPS (like buildings, and people). just put up some cool stuff.

gay boyfriend and midtown madness 3 videos were all shot with the DVX.

Here's a link to my first attempt shooting with my DVX100 in the mountains in June. I just came back from another trip and took 2 hours of waterfalls, mountains and trains. Don't know what I'm going to do with it all but it was fun.

HAHAHA I wish I can take credit. I guess the post was ambiguous but this is just a site that i came across that I believe is some of the best work seen with the DVX. I had no affiliation with them.

I guess just for posterity's sake we should add some of the details:

These films were both made by Ryan McFaul (there is more stuff at his site, if you go up one level from the posted link to his main page.)

If I remember right he posted the first piece ('gay boyfriend' music video) this last winter and has a very nice write up and behind the scenes section on his website. (Two days worth of footage mixed with 500+ hours of editing and fx work...) There are some really nice examples of how to pull elements from the footage and increase production value in post.

As for the compression/size I believe it is a 320x240 movie that has been 'doubled' in the browser.

And just in case you missed, I would also highly recommend 'Plastic Hut' ;) If you bump into this Ryan, very nice work - I hope it is continuing to pay off beyond the compliments here.

I shot these episodes on my DVX100, in "thick" mode, 24p, non-advanced mode.

I think we're the first episodes so far to use the DVX100. You can look at the other episodes to compare it with the other cameras, which are all listed on the individual episodes' pages, as the compression and sizes are all the same throughout.

No, we never planned to go to film, but we are going to combine the episodes and extra footage into a DVD version.

I like your video and Duo's music as well. More info on the band? Would've like to see the center cam zoom in a bit,,, or did you shoot this with one cameraman? What is your setup.

I usually use the XL1s and other broadcast cameras, but in a new project will be using DVX100 for the first time. Just looking into the threads. Really excited on what I read, hear and see about this camera!
Will post questions when I have accumilated and organize what I need to know. Really stoked in using this cam. Til then.

Thanks for the compliment. I shot Duo, myself, so I couldn't do much with the wideshot. I just tripoded the camera and did handheld with the DVX100.

I got the DVX100 that day and the band coincidentaly asked me to film them (right after I got the camera). There wasn't much time. I usually have folks on-site to help.
