Mark Magin of Onboard Images just posted the first high-def video footage captured from the cockpit of an acrobatic plane via Flash XDR. He also posted video from a 2-seater ultra-light. The video has obviously been heavily compressed for web viewing, but the XDR captured every frame without a glitch. I believe he has now logged 6 one-hour flights with XDR capturing at 1080i 4:2:2 at 50 Mbps.

"In-Conckpit" Nicely done. Good color and clear image. "View of the Flightline ..." reminds me of green screen work done in the old days! Well done! Good start for XDR!

Mike, I can't believe I'm actually finding the wait for the XDR more unbearable than for the EX3.

Send me an email!

There are now more "In the Cockpit..." videos posted.

These are very interesting videos, very well done. They make me want to go flying!

I am assuming that all "In the Cockpit..." videos were recorded with the Flash XDR.

Our thanks go to Mark Magin of Onboard Images and the pilots for these great videos.

To find the videos, follow the instructions in Mike's original post.

There are some on Wednesday, and Thursday. Just click on the "Day" tabs to find more videos.

Hi Roy-
I will ask On Board Images if they have any of the details.

We hope to post footage from the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally soon and possibly from the Bonneville Salt Flats (attempt at a new land speed record).

Just to be clear:

We hope to have a Flash XDR, on board, during the attempt at the land speed record.

It should make for some interesting video.
