Hi, did a bit of searching on this topic but could n't find anything UK related. Just about to take delivery of a PMW-EX3, have a new MBP and various audio items all totalling about £11.5 Grand so far.

I'm already starting to plan out shoots with corporate clients etc. and now I'm thinking I'd better get some insurance to cover all this new gear for when it all arrives in the next week or so.

Anyone UK based have any recommendations for who to approach? My household and buildings insurance is with Direct Line but I'm not convinced (right now) that the're the cheapest or best to approach. I'm quite prepared to have a different company and put it through my business account so who would be a good company to approach? Anyone using someone they would recommend and any reasons why?

I'd also like to know about this, as I've just got a Z7 and need insurance as well.

There are a number of UK companies that specialize in film & TV insurance.

Allan Chapman & James phone 01206 500000
Aon Entertainment & media Team phone 0645 6010380

Are well known, but there also others.

Media and Entertainment Insurance Service phone 020 8467 8455
Media Insurance Brokers phone 020 7387 5054

As a couple more.

I use Golden Valley Insurance (based in Shropshire- they specialise in photographic, video and sound stuff (but also do birds and music). When I've made a claim, I've found them quick and helpful.
