I want to render some clips with CC, gamma adjustment & sharpening before I combine new copies of them in multicam mode. I can't afford the diskspace for the AVI version so I am using DV PAL 9000Kbps CBR/10-bit (no audio) with the Sony DV codec. I presume using such a high bit rate will reduce multi-generational losses? Will this produce good results or should I be looking at MPEG or lossless?

are you rendering to UNcompressed AVI? If so yeah the diskspace is hugh. DV-Avi is still 13 gigs and hour and you won't have generational loss to worry about. At least worry talking about IMO. I do it all the time. AAMOF, it's a standard part of my work flow.

Uncompressed is too big for me. So I'm using DV-AVI with the parameters as mentioned. This is lossy re-compression, but I believe the generation loss is small when using the Sony DV codec.
