I'm having some problems with making a DVD. I have my video rendered as an mpeg and is approxinmately 1.6 GB, but when i put it into architect it says the file is is 7.3 GB. I have 23 markers/chapters put into it, and each chapter has a text displayed on the footage. what i would like to know is why the footage is too large. I also converted it as a DVD package in architect and it said it was 4.6GB, but it is still too large. is there something that i am doing wrong?

Is the MPG 7.6gig or the AVI? Sounds like it needs to be rendered to the proper bitrate. If rendering in DVDA then use fit to disc and set the rate.

Hello,

I have had this issue arise on numerous occasions. Many times I just use a DVDA version lower than 4. For some reason the file size is a lot more respectable.

BUT, today I had a similar experience. I had a mpeg 2 clip with a file size around 3.5 Gb. When I first brought it into DVDA 4.5 or 5 the file size for the project read more than 7 Gb. I then uninstalled DVDA 4.5 or 5 and then reinstalled DVDA 5 and BINGO when I brought the same clip in the reinstalled DVDA 5 it registered 3.9 Gb. Go figure.

SUMMARY:

Try the clip in an older version of DVDA

OR

Uninstall DVDA 4.5 and reinstall DVDA 5.

I hope this helps.
