OMG! Was this the first time you had the Z1 in that housing with the same battery?
What size battery did you use, and how long was it powered up inside the housing?

Was it a Sony battery?

I must chime in with both Bills; please give us more details! My stomach is still sinking after viewing those pics. I've (thankfully) encountered no such problems with my Amphibico Phenom housing and trusty, cool-running Z1.
Do let us know if and when the culprit is found. (I'll ask further, was the camera repairable, or a total loss?)
Best,
Chris

So i got the camera checked out by sony canada, who are 5 minutes from my house - pretty sweet. My heart sank when i was quoted $3070,21cnd for repairs.
They figured that i tiny bit of water caused a short? and began some serious problems which have been happening over time :(
My finall question is, anyone have a broken Z1 with the follow parts still working?:
- Viewfinder LCD Panel
- VC board
- FP 971 board
- IF 122 board
- FP 981 board
And the following pieces not melted:
- Inner viewfinder cabinet
- Rear cabinet
