I'm interested to know which are the better DVD mastering suites out there that will let you create animated menus?

I've got some of the standard ones that came with software like: Pinnacle Studio 8, Video Explosion, Ulead, Adobe Premiere, etc. and they're all fine for non-linear editing of DV stock. What good software packages are out there for a professionally menued DVD? I'm looking for one that can handle animations, a background video, or both.

Under £1000

Sonic ReelDVD will do the job - Motion menus, subtitles, Audio tracks nice layout, lets you view where each menu and video is connected. You will need Photoshop to craete the menus.

Adobes Encore is another good one. Its closely intregrated with Premiere and Photoshop, or can be used alone.

Over £1000
If you want more Professional suites look at Sonic Producer or Scienarist.

Are the Sonic titles by a company called Sonic Foundry?

John, the answer is...

NO

I believe that sonic was first called Daekin and now they are called Sonic.

All the best,

Motion menus are different from animated buttons though. But if you go mid-highend Sonic (Producer-Scenarist) you'll be able to do both,
