Couldn't find a price on this, but I'll bet it's more expensive than the XDR - but it is quite impressive on paper...

Nor do I see the NLE support that Mike has presently with a "universal" codec in the compressed formats...
Uncompressed seems to be it's "duty".
(and I should give credit to Klas, for bringing this to our attention from this thread:

Interesting.
I am sure this space is going to heat up.
Between these type of recording boxes and the RED camera, the big camera manufacturers have a lot more on their minds these days!

I believe this is a Russian manufacturer - I was following it for some time, but nothing on their site ever changed - new info was never published for about 1 1/2 years.
I'd feel a little more than uncomfortable dealing with this company at this point. On the other hand, Convergent Design has been around for a while and has many other successful products in the market-place. And their people like Mike Schell are very accessible and responsive.
Also, we've seen a physical semi-working product back in April with regular updates on product status.
Just an opinion of course.

I don't think anyone will jump ship from the XDR, but there may be something here for C-D to expand on or think about or ????
I happen to think competition is good for all sides of the game...

Thanks you very much for pointing out this new Flash Recorder! It looks interesting. I will download the specs and take a close look and then post some comments.
