I saw a post here saying that if you shoot 24 or 30f, that only Canon HD cameras will play the tape back. Is that right, but 60i footage will play back on other cameras? What about decks?
If you're sending a tape shot on the A1 to a client with access to professional post production facilities, is it likely they'll be able to play it, even if they don't have a Canon HD camera?

Your pretty much on the money Jim, 60i plays back on respective devices. 24 and 30F only playback on a Canon device. Although there is some talk of a Sony deck which has just been released being able to deal with the frame mode.
Instead of posting the mini DV tape why not capture and send the raw files on disk?

Thanks for the replies. If there's enough time maybe I will transfer the footage and send a disc--sounds like a good idea.
