Hello everyone,

So my company has been hired out to shoot a new feature film (vampire type movie) and we are using the HD110 in junction with a Letus35 extreme and nikon primes.

The feature will be shooting all around New York for the next 2 months... I will be the DP for the film and over the next few weeks, be updating this with set photos and details of what goes on set.

The producer of this film has already had 2 other films in blockbuster as blockbuster exclusive releases and one in BestBuy, so most likely this one will also have some distribution...

The budget isn't very high, but its enough that we can get some serious work done.


The film will be shot in 720p 24p with a 2:35:1 crop.
we have Arri, Lowel, and Altman lighting.
lots of Gels
And a crazy cast.

There will be tons of makeup and FX in this film, everything will be done IN camera. No greenscreen.
Most likely a truck load of fake blood will be used by the end of this film haha.

Crew positions might end up being open soon, if some things change as well.

I am a Mainer, and JVC HD110 owner. But I will be in Brooklyn for July and August and am interested in spending time on your set: Can offer self up as a hapless victim and/or in any other capacity.

I should be in town by June 25.

Ok so its been a very long 2 weeks of shooting...

Besides the problems with actors, all the footage is looking great so far!
Our dailies look great blown up to 1080p

All the info is being updated as we speak so please keep in mind info will change on there.
We will most likely be shooting this film for the next month and then some pickups after that.

We just wrapped one of our huge locations, it was a 100,000 sq foot warehouse, with MANY large rooms, many sets were inside this one building, and boy was it crazy...

There was already florescent lighting built into a lot of the rooms, but instead of using kinoflows I opted to use the existing lighting fixtures and bulbs... Now I know, I know, they flicker, but I really like it... we mixed the fluorescents with our Arri's and Lowls and I like the affect. So I got the look I basically wanted. My biggest challenge was to light a MAJOR set in under 30 mins with the lighting we had, It was a mad scientists lab. I added some green shooting across some great lab equipment and popped red and yellow, all mixing with some florescent tabletop lights... The attached files are raw un-color corrected jpgs right from the m2t files.
