I have a clip consisting of MPEG2 video and AC3 audio. I'd like to render it to a WMV file, but Vegas won't read AC3 on the timeline.
anyone know of a way to convert the AC3 to something Vegas will work with?

Is this on a DVD? If yes, just do a File - Import - DVD Camcorder Disc and it should read the AC3 audio just fine. Otherwise, you'll need some other program to convert the audio to WAV.

thanks, Edward. I pulled in the clip from the DVD and was able to get it on the timeline. Rendering did not work smoothly, however. There are problems at the beginning/;end of each event. Too bad Vegas splits up the footage at markers.

Will this work for movie DVDs? I have some concert DVDs that I want to extract the audio and put that on a CD (in either MP3 or WAV format) so I can listen to it in the car.
Thanks,

Only if they're not copyrighted/protected. All you can do is try it.

They don't have any copyright protection on them.
Thanks,
