Here is a fake trailer that some friends and I made. We were just messing around one day with the XH-A1 and Letus and decided to make a little short. Check it out.

Also, I was not able to get a hold of the mic that I normally use, so the audio is a little shoddy. I'm having to work all summer to get a good mic. Any suggestions?

Thanks,
scott

I thought the audio was still pretty good. What mic did you use for the trailer? And did you go straight to the camera or dual-system?

Very nice. Which mic did you use? I didn't think the audio was bad either. I though you might have overused the rack focus just a bit, but I'm a picture framer, so don't put too much into my opinion.

For the in-field stuff I used a cheap AT lav that friend had for a few days, and for the voiceover I used an AT 3035 that my brother had. everything else was done on the XH-A1's mic, or patched up in post. I'm pretty low on cash right now, but I am saving up for a mic. I'm looking at the MKH-416.

Also, everything is just being recorded to the camera for right now. working on changing that as well.

That was pretty slick. You managed to rack your focus back & forth pretty well on some of those shots. Did you pull that off using just the standard LCD display? I would go blind over a dozen takes trying to do that without a heavy monitor and a follow focus.

Ha great job man.. I loved it... I'm a big Entourage fan as well... : )

I loved his white socks with the black suit... lol...

Unfortunately I did have to film that without a monitor or a follow focus. I would love to get a follow focus but that is on my to buy list.

I'm glad that someone did notice the white socks with the dark suit. Very few people catch that, and I think it adds to the character.

Thanks for the comments guys.

Scott, nice work. Really enjoyed the scenes form downtown and on the waterfront.

I'll second Steve's accolade of the 1.4. I have one too, that we keep falling back on it for "money" shots. I usually try to shoot it at F4 or F 5.6, but it if you want real shallow depth of field focusing, it works great at wide open.

Superbly shot and very entertaining. The only thing that totally ruined it for me is that I didn't find the 'bad guy' in the slightest bit convincing as a 'bad guy'.

Very well done though on all other counts!
