I just downloaded and installed the latest release of NEO HDV (released last week) and I am unable to capture AVI files from either the HV20 or XH-A1. I have tried to repair the registries and also uninstalled and reinstalled the software with no luck so far. After I start to play a clip in Connect HD and hit "start" to capture, the tape stops and I get a series of error statements in the log, starting with:

Error CreateAnd ADDFILter (CLSID....)(0x80040154-Class not registered) in (RTCaptureConvert.cpp at 749)

I can capture m2t files but not AVIs, and the only thing that has changed with my PC is the upgrade of NEO. Anyone else encountered this issue?

Keep trying, I had to reinstall Aspect HD 4 times once before it worked properly...

Just tried it with my HV20... works fine...

from the error I think it means the process of registering didn't work when you loaded the software....

I'd just do a standard un install and make sure your firewall/virus checker is
off and try to load it again...

I have the same problem with 167 new version.
HD Link capture is not working with my HV20 cam.

OK, I can see the issue, there is a missing registry setup for some systems on install.

Unzip attachment and double click on the UseMpeg.reg file. Restart HDLink.

A version for NEO users.

David, As my load is working with my HV20, is there any benefit for me to run the setup you are describing, or should I leave good alone?

You should see no difference, yet he registry setting attached does correct a small installation error. We have update 167 to 167a with the installer patch -- download this as it is much smaller. Patch rating: Harmless to potentially benefincial.
