Thought I'd introduce myself as I'm new here.
I'm a recent college graduate (as of the 25th, actually!) and an artist of many guises: cellist, painter, sculptor, potter, writer, and filmmaker, but up until recently I've been making my living teaching English as a second language to international communities and doing work with adult literacy here in the United States.
I hope to go to pick up an MFA in filmmaking eventually, but until then I'm keeping myself busy working on a variety of projects to strengthen my portfolio and pay the bills; a few photo essays, some art here and there, and a new documentary project that will take me to East Africa in only a few weeks.
Digital Video work in the past has included a handful of short films and a documentary I'm nearly finished with that I shot last year in China. I've shot with a Canon XL2 and a Sony HVR-A1U, but don't own either of those simply because (as a college student) I've not had the budget to purchase a camera along those lines... though I may be forced to do that very soon for the sake of my upcoming Africa doc! (Will post about that shortly!)
Warm wishes from a small town in Kentucky,
-Rachel
