Anyone tried this Spinet LED from Japan? They cost about US$450 but I'm not sure how well they perform.
The specs are as follows:
- Brightness: 520lx (1m) by using 7 pcs of new power led
- Standard 5600k color temp]
- Dimmer control 50-100%
- Angle: 30 degrees
- Various dv battery holder that can hold Sony, panasonic, JVC or Canon batts
- DC 7.2V or 12V operation and 9.5W Power consumption
- Weight & size: 440g / 100(w) x 70(H) x 88(D) mm
- Made in Japan

have not tried it, but its slightly less power than the sony at around the same price, I have th sony light and its great!

I the beam angle is only 30 degrees, I can't imagine it not being a bit spotty even with an SD 4x3 camera. I think at the very least a 40-45 degree angle is better. 16x9 you would need practically double what this one is :)

check into this one, wider spread, only sony batteries but they last hours if you get the larger ones.
