Apparently, AJA iO HD supports Apple's ProRes codec natively in hardware:

Any plans for such a device with Prospect HD support?

Alex, no current plans for a device similar to IO-HD. Do you think there is a big need? Isn't it just as easy to use an HD-SDI card inside the machine? The one place it seems there is a fit for IO-HD is for capturing onto a laptop from an HD-SDI source.
But as you might be aware we are working on an embedded processor for the CineForm codec. When this is ready there is no reason a device like IO-HD couldn't be built.

Are you referring to the Cineform mobile recorder project?

Yes, that'd be fantastic. I just wasn't sure there's any progress on that front, since thread seems to be quiet for a long time.
Any ballpark projections on when can we test a prototype?

Yes. Development is going a bit slower than we wanted due to other project priorities but it remains a committed project.
