Lorinda and I were chatting about DVC13... Thought I'd take a poll to see who's around this June for some a challenge. If you're looking for an excuse to roll out that camera... post here!

Hang on, folks. Our main man will give us a sign-up thread soon. I think... :)

Lorinda,

The UWOL challenge theme will be announced on June 1 with the deadline falling on June 22nd.

Any chance you and Dylan can set the kickoff date on the DVC for the 22nd or will some of us have to either do 2 at once (Gasp! Although I realize for some here that may be a way of life!) or make a difficult choice?

Lorinda Norton
May 26th, 2008, 07:07 PM
Yeah, we’re aware that things got bunched up. It’s just that May didn’t look like a good time for running a challenge. That's partly why this one is billed as a "semi-regular contest." ;)

We’ve tossed around ideas and I’m hoping Dylan will be making a final decision about the dates/conditions the very next time he gets a break from work. I tell ya, communicating with him by email these days reminds me of my Internet service of late—it’s spotty at best. He is an incredibly busy guy!

Good Morning,

Well, I have be thinking about the dv challenge for quite some time but have not stepped forward yet, I have participated in all the uwol challenges.

Bruce makes a good suggestion, maybe some of the uwolers would give the dv challenge a shot!!!

No idea what I'm getting into here. But that's never stopped me before.

Yes, put this DVirgin down down for the Comp.

As one who posts in both DVInfo film contests, I would prefer to see this contest run after finish of UWOL. Other issues might still get in way of entry, but this would give us simultaneous UWOLer's a chance still.

Lorinda Norton

Oh, the injustice of it all, to be at the mercy of a rogue icon and his sidekick! ;)

We could move and bump and reschedule ‘til it never happens because of Dylan’s and my calendars. Unfortunately, pile-ups are going to happen sometimes!

Just to let everyone know, Dylan is out of reach right now but will give us a timely sign-up as soon as he can. It’s gonna be good… :)

Bruce makes a good suggestion, maybe some of the uwolers would give the dv challenge a shot!!!

hey now, lots of UWOLers are bi-contestular. Chris, Bruce, Marco, Jim, Victor, Andrew, Ken. And I'm sure that I am missing a few names here. Now Vegard and you, Dale.

Ahem, and can anyone forget my unforgettable Halloween Zombie Love film in last October's DVC Guts-fest? You can? errr....

Before that, I completed 3 other DVCs, I think. The dog thing, the edison phonograph thing, and oh yeah, the FX-1 cineframe mode experimental desperation entry....I've hung on the DVC Wall of Shame once, as well.

And, on the flip side, Senor B. Marlow participated in the first UWOL. Also, one of my most favorite entries from a DVCer with Daryl Ahye climbing a tree to chase a squirrel. City boy goes country.

So there's plenty of room at the trough for all the little piggies....

Dylan "Shark bait" Couper signed up for UWOL but took a swim.

So that leaves you, Lorinda...this way to the sign-up thread!

Look Meryem,
I mean no disrespect, but I saw Lorinda's movie with all the barn yard animals in it! Any director that can not only coax animals into acting but also talking????

I wouldn't mess with power like that!!!

although Zombies are pretty ruthless as well....?

hhhmmmmm

this is gonna be good!

yes, i was kind of picturing the tiki bar on the prairie routine...too easy!

of course, this also means that i have to interact with other humans, bah, who needs em. i wonder what kind of oscar-winning tragi-comic performances i can squeeze out of the prairie dogs and bun-buns?

Dale Guthormsen
May 30th, 2008, 09:59 PM
Good evening,

Ok meryem, What are bun buns????? As much as I know wildlife, That one has me stumped!!!

Here we have "Surface Gophers", not really gophers. We have "chickens" that are not really "Chickens" and chicken Hawks that do not eat chickens. Oh yea, and people that should eat soylant Green.

I went through quite a few of the DV challenges to see what people do.

Well, I have zero actors ever, lots of cool ideas that need actors. I am trying to dream up ideas that avoid the use of people, Hummm.

Wonder if I can even do this!!!

LOL! After reading that I watched “Mirage” again. Cracked me up! It’s one of those movies that is so bad it’s almost good.

Makes that nice comment Chris made earlier even funnier. :)
