I'm trying to help someone with their new Canon HG10.

Once you turn it on it ask for the time and date. I'm suppose to use the control dial on the flip screen but the control dial does not change the date. It doesn't look like the control dial works at all.

Any advice before return the unit?

The camcorder was returned to Amazon. Amazon sent one out then the buyer returned it through RMA within 24 hours. I was pretty impressed with the customer service.

The original camera was defective. When I used the replacment, there were no control dial issues.
