Did a little piece from footage I shot of the 2008 Boston Marathon. Its a truly great event to see first hand and I have a lot of respect for all the runners. It inspired me to train for my first triathalon this year.

Enjoy.

Nice work. I'm surprised it hasn't elicited more response here. Solid documentary work that artfully captures the mood and energy of the event. As someone who does primarily run-&-gun style work in the field, it's very encouraging.

Nice work. I'm surprised it hasn't elicited more response here.

Maybe 'cause it's the weekend and it's not even been up for a full day yet??!!

Benjamin, very nice work. I echo Michael's sentiments, you brought a fresh set of eyes and captured the peripheral activity very nicely. Good sensibility. The only technical note I would give is that a fair amount of your shots would have improved with a bit more density, i.e. a touch less exposure.

When I lived in Boston I got to shoot different aspects of the Marathon for various docs and commercial clients--once with my Steadicam on the back of the press truck preceding the wheelchair race the entire way, another time shooting high speed 16mm from the press tower at the finish line. Both were exhilarating and fascinating, particularly in terms of the subject matter.

The Boston Marathon is a great event.
