One thing about the EX1 that really bugs me is XDCAM Transfer defaulting to sorting by SOURCE. Surely the obvious "Sort By" should be the order in which the clips were shot?
I've tried looking in Prefs but can find no way to get it to sort by date as default.
Any ideas?
(But what a wonderful camera)!

What we do is to view the clips as files (not thumbnails), then sort them after "media start" in the XDCAM Transfer window.
Then "mark all", then import.
This way you get the right order, not some crazy random import the Transfer tool decides.
The Sony Transfer software is a pice of c**p if you ask me.
And if you import more than 20 clips it starts to make false duplicates in FC and disturbing the filing order in the whole project

Thanks Joachim, I hope to try your method tomorrow (Wednesday).
I still don't understand the XDCAM Transfer numbering system.

Joachim,
Is the software still doing this with FCP 6.0.3? That's one of the issues which was hopefully resolved with the latest FCP. If for some reason you haven't updated yet, this might be a good reason to do so.
Thanks,

Here's a workaround to avoid duplicate clips:
Import 10 clips.
Move those 10 clips in FCP into a bin.
Then import 10 more.
Can be a drag but at least you preserve any comments entered in the XDCam transfer software.

Strange, I am not seeing this issue...
I have 6.0.3 FCP and 2.5.1 of XDCAM Transfer.

That's why I posed the question earlier. 6.0.3 was supposed to resolve that problem. Good to know that you aren't experiencing the issue.
