I have a 20GB .dv file in which I need to convert to .avi for Premiere to read. What is the best file conversion program for this or will Premiere read .dv files natively?

The latest release of our Enosoft DV Processor (http://www.enosoft.net/) (1.5) can read and write .dv files natively. You can use it to convert from .dv to Type-1 or Type-2 DV AVI. By default, the conversion will run in real-time. To make it run as fast as possible, disable the navigation/seeking option described in the help file.

The software is free for non-profit use. If you are converting a one-off and it is for profit, don't worry about it...
