View Full Version : Prospect HD seems slower than Native HDV

Hello,

I am trying the Prospect HD software on Premiere CS3 and having a few issues. The capture facility is ace, and far more reliable than Premiere's offering. Out of interest is it possible to use it to capture files (using the scene detect option) but produce the normal non-cineform avi files (or maybe convert the cineform files back to something else)?

I seem to be getting files that are about 500MB per minute (using High setting, AVI from 720p25 HDV), is this right?

When editing on the timeline (using 720p25 Cineform preset) I am suffering from both delayed scrubbing (i.e. the timeline indicator can't keep up) and the strange contrast difference between stopped and playing. I have read the thread about overlay settings (and not made any changes yet) but when exporting to a Quicktime I get the washed out low contrast version.

In general the Cineform solution seems slower and less appealing at the moment. I am sure this is due to the set-up or lack understanding as everyone else seems to rave about it.

I am using a Dell precision M2300-Core 2 Duo T7500, 2.2GHz, 4GB RAM with an external USB2 Raid 1 disk unit. I had no speed issues with native HDV before which should mean this new set-up should rock!

Thanks
