I never noticed it with my GL1/GL2, but when I capture downconverted DV from my XHA1, the time code on the camera seems to slow down, then catch up then slow down again. The footage seems ok.
is this normal?

Don, I'm capturing DV, converted from HDV in cam.

I get the same thing when capturing HDV in Premiere elements 4. It runs smoothly if I just playback the tape, but lags behind when capturing. The captured file seems ok and I can find clips I noted down at the correct points on the timecode, so I don't worry about it.
