So, I just got my Canon HV20 about 3 weeks ago. I wanted to try it out, so I shot a short BMW commercial with it. Nothing major, just a little fun. Comments and Critiques welcome.

Here it is at YouTube...

And in HD at Vimeo...

And if you care about details, a short write up about it on my blog...

Nice... It's something I've always wanted to do. Question: what wide-angle lens did you use?

Nice video Daniel, great low light quality.

* I see so many threads and post with people using the Canon HV20 lately. Is that camera really that good? How does it compare to the XL H1?

Great work Daniel

The directing was very good and the shots were smooth. Did you use a tripod or go handheld?

What price range is the HV20.

I do not have personal experience with the XL H1, as most of my professional HD experience is with the HVX 200 and VariCam.

However, the footage from the HV20 is amazing for the price. It looks WAAAY better than it should at that price point. I'm very happy with it.

Well, some of the shots aren't smooth, because I didn't have a crane. I handheld everything. I paid about $720 for the HV20. You can get it from Amazon for that price or a little less. The HV30 came out, and it's a bit more expensive, but not too bad.
