No, but this rig is now getting close to Archer territory.

That's really good news, I thought it would be way more expensive then that.

Unfortunately, the same lower sled structure which hinders dynamic balancing--wish it had been redesigned along the lines of the Pilot.

I'm with you there Charles, but 19 pounds capacity at that price seems like great value, should just scrape through with a fully kitted Red camera?

"fully kitted" is a complicated statement Nick--once you enter the 35mm optical arena, the lenses start to become a major weight component depending on type. Super Speeds, no problem...Master Primes or lightweight zooms, could be a problem. And consider 1 or 2 (or even 3) motors, motor driver/receiver for same, downconverter, transmitter, mattebox, Cinetape...things add up quick. And all this assuming you power the camera off the sled--flying the battery would be a bad idea for a small rig.

I would actually say that a stripped down RED would be viable, but a fully-kitted one would require a larger capacity system, at least 25 lbs and more appropriately 30 to be able to handle whatever configuration is required. As a DP I would be very discontent if my operator was unable to accommodate the tools required to do the job.

See they also did a redesign of the arm. Nice but I'm with CP on this one.

Looks like there are three versions of the new Flyer, standard, hi-def and a Red camera version: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c6G1iRGrCTk
