Anyone else have problems keeping the Lowel Pro Light attached tightly to your light stand? Mine always manage to loosen and tilt slightly.

Mine always manage to loosen and tilt slightly. Gary Moses April 13th, 2008, 07:12 AM Add some star or lock washers. Gary Michael Wisniewski April 13th, 2008, 04:23 PM Thank you, I'll check those out. Floris van Eck May 18th, 2008, 06:01 AM I am also having this problem. What are star or lock washers? I have it with my Pro Light but also with my Omni light. Richard Gooderick May 18th, 2008, 07:48 AM Floris If you Google images (not web) using 'lock washer' you will see photos of these and star washers. They are used between a nut and the surface that the nut is being tightened onto, to stop the nut from coming undone. You place them into the threaded part before you put the nut on and then tighten the nut. Because the washer is springy and is under compression it stops the nut from vibrating or working loose. You can probably get them from a hardware store, your equipment dealer or a friendly garage. Floris van Eck May 18th, 2008, 03:18 PM Thanks Richard. Seems like a good solution. Shaun Roemich May 18th, 2008, 07:00 PM Interesting: My Lowel Pros are about 5 years old (I own 6 of them) and I've had no issues at all. Are the ones you're having problems with newer? |
